Despite it now being confirmed that Cheryl Cole won't be a part of The X Factor UK this year, it seems as though the Girls Aloud singer has already fallen firmly on her feet. According to the Daily Star today, the Geordie star has landed herself a £5 million TV deal.
The paper doesn't say what show or what channel the deal is for, but does reveal the mystery programme is due to air over the summer to rival The X Factor.
“Cheryl’s had a knock but she’s full of Geordie grit and is going to come back fighting," a source said. “America didn’t work out but she is still a megastar in Britain. She is determined to get back on the box and show the world just what they’re missing.
“There’s already a £5million offer on the table and she no longer needs Simon to succeed.”
The X Factor 2011 UK panel was confirmed yesterday as Take That star Gary Barlow, N-Dubz singer Tulisa, US singer Kelly Rowland and Louis Walsh.
Cheryl was due to join the panel but snubbed deals worth around £2.5 million. She told friends: "Simon thought I could just come back and basically save the UK show because he asked me to. But X Factor isn’t the be-all and end-all of my career.”
Let’s just hope you don’t regret saying those words, Cheryl...
