Cheryl Cole has reportedly demanded that show bosses double her money if they want to see her on The X Factor UK this year. According to The Sun, Cheryl offered producers the ultimatum of 'double or I quit' earlier this week, and ITV are still yet to make up their minds!
Following Cheryl’s axe from the US show, a source told the tabloid: "It is humiliating for Cheryl. She believes she should be handsomely compensated for it."
The deal could see get paid around £2 million for the series, which kicks off with the first auditions in Birmingham on Wednesday.
A poll conducted by TellyMix revealed that X Factor viewers were split with Cheryl returning to the show. Just 55% voted in favour of seeing the Girls Aloud star back on the panel this year. A similar poll carried out by The Sun saw 65% of voters want Cheryl back.
An ITV insider told the newspaper: "We are trying to sort this out quickly. Time is running out. The first filmed auditions are in Birmingham on Wednesday."
Another source added: "Cheryl loves the show and the fans, but she's holding a strong deck of cards."
In a twist of events last night however it was revealed that all of the new UK judges had already been signed. We reported earlier today how lawyers were currently looking to sort out the mess before the auditions start later this week.
Spokespersons for Cheryl Cole and ITV have yet to comment on the stories.
