Louis Walsh has said he wants to see Cheryl Cole back on The X Factor here in the UK for the new series, which starts filming next Wednesday. Speaking to The Mirror yesterday, Louis said he was "surprised" by Cheryl's axe in the states, but added he'd love to see her back on the UK show.
Cheryl was given the boot from the US show yesterday by FOX network executives over concerns about her accent and chemistry with fellow judge Paula Abdul.
Louis Walsh was quick to welcome her back to the show here in the UK saying: "I’d like her back. I think she should return and I think most viewers feel the same. She’s a great asset.
“I honestly don’t know what’s going to happen at this stage but I’m 100% per cent behind her returning.”
The X Factor 2011 UK begins filming in Birmingham on June 1 - just five days away - with a panel still yet to be announced.
Louis continued “Cheryl and I get on well. She’s a soft, sweet girl. Not many people see that side of her. Of course what happened in the States is a blow but she will bounce back from it with the right people around her. She’s big enough to carry on being a big success and a massive hit with the viewers.
“I’m going to miss Dannii so it would be great to have at least Cheryl back.”
The new UK panel was originally rumoured to include Take That's Gary Barlow, US singer Kelly Rowland and N-Dubz star Tulisa. If Cheryl Cole is to return its set to see the back of one of the new judges before they've even started!
TellyMix will be in Birmingham on June 1 blogging live from the first X Factor 2011 auditions.
