Dannii Minogue reportedly walked out from The X Factor after she was messed around by the show's producers with this year's audition dates. According to the Daily Mirror, Aussie star Dannii was fed up with the schedule for this year's show continually changing.
Previous reports have suggested that audition dates have had to be moved to fit in around Gary Barlow's Take That tour, with the singer widely expected to be revealed as a new judge on the show.
A source told the newspaper: "She’d had enough of being messed around and treated like she was insignificant. The third change of dates was the final straw.”
Yesterday Dannii said she was disappointed about not being back, but added: “I’m not furious, upset or livid. We simply couldn’t make the dates work.”
A spokesperson for The X Factor said: "The dates didn’t work for the show or Dannii. It’s as simple as that."
And a source at ITV would only reveal: “We are very excited about this year’s show. We’ll announce the judges’ line-up shortly.”
Meanwhile it looks as though while Simon Cowell won't be on screen during this year's auditions, he'll still be behind the scenes influencing what goes on during the show.
A source said: “We expect him to give judges a pep talk and to check the show kicks off the way he wants.”
The X Factor 2011 auditions start in Birmingham on June 1.
