Despite already being the UK's most watched show, Simon Cowell is now reportedly set on making The X Factor even better by introducing new judge Kelly Rowland. According to STV, Cowell is hoping that the US star will make the reality series 'cool'.

Simon is said to be expecting the former Destiny's Child singer to give The X Factor some "street cred" and allow a different hip-hop and RnB audience to tune into the show.

Seeming to confirm she'd be taking part in the programme this year, Kelly Rowland praised the show saying: "The X Factor is an amazing show. I love Simon because he's so honest."

She added: "Everything he says I agree with. I don't know what kind of judge I'll be."

Tulisa Constavolos from N-Dubz and Take That star Gary Barlow will also join the programme, after Dannii Minogue quit the show at the weekend.

An insider said: "Simon has been telling producers he wants Kelly Rowland and Tulisa from N-Dubz and the simple fact is there wasn't room for everyone.

"Something had to give - and that something was Dannii."

The X Factor 2011 auditions start on June 1 in Birmingham.
