Britain's Got Talent 2011 hopeful Jai McDowall was teased for being gay throughout his childhood, the singer has revealed. The 24-year-old, who was a bag of nerves when performing on Saturday night's show, also told The Sun he felt more confident after getting three yeses from the panel.
Britain's Got Talent judges Amanda Holden, David Hasselhoff and Michael McIntyre all put the singer through after he had the audience up their feet with an amazing performance of Anthem from the Chess musical.
However the singer, who is straight, told the newspaper: "Through school, kids always teased me. It's exactly like Glee - guys think you're gay if you sing and dance."
Meanwhile he also admitted he was nervous about going on the show, but now revealed: "All the bad comments I get I feel I can brush off now."
