He became known as the 'gypsy singer' after his appearance on Britain's Got Talent 2011 last month, but now Michael Collings has moved into a house after years on the council waiting list. According to The Sun Michael still has "no regrets" about his previous way of life.
The 19-year-old singer was very proud of his background on the show, telling the judges he lived in a "posh" trailer park with his parents, fiancé and daughter.
But now it seems it's time to move on, with a source revealing: "Michael loved the caravan and has no regrets about that part of his life. But he is a dad now and wants to bring up his son as a family with Sarah."
Speaking to the tabloid, the insider continued: "They've been on the waiting list for a council house for a while and finally one has come up. Hopefully in a few weeks they will be in."
The youngster is one of the favourites to win the show after wowing the panel and audience with his version of Tracy Chapman's Fast Car on the first show. Michael's performance saw the original song shoot back into the charts, climbing into the Top 10 on the Official Singles Chart.
Britain's Got Talent 2011 continues this weekend at 8PM on ITV1.
