Simon Cowell has revealed that he's "really looking forward" returning to Britain's Got Talent 2011 for the live shows this year. Speaking at the launch of his new game show Red or Black? yesterday, Cowell added that people needed to stop being so "gloomy" about the show.
"It's time people enjoyed themselves," Simon explained, "I'm really looking forward to the semi-finals. You have to stop worrying about people writing these headlines. I know what makes a good show and a bad show and this is a good show.
"I think they will be produced better at the semi-finals with more people working with the acts. We've got a much bigger team around the acts. I think the singers will have better chances because of that. They will have more rehearsal time and I think the talent is better this year than last year."
Simon Cowell left the show along with Piers Morgan last year, but Cowell will return to act as a fourth independent judge for the week of live shows at the end of May.
Meanwhile Simon Cowell's brother Tony has said that he reckons Simon's return will make a huge improvement to the show. "We all miss Simon of course," he wrote in his Star magazine column this week. "Some people have forgotten he's coming back for the live shows at the end of May. Just watch the viewing figures go through the roof then."
He added: "I can't wait to see the audience's reaction when he steps out on to the stage."
Britain's Got Talent 2011 continues this Saturday at 8PM on ITV1.
