Hosts of Britain's Got Talent 2011 Ant and Dec have revealed they felt that 12-year-old Ronan Parke was the star of Saturday's latest audition show. The Geordie duo said the youngster and his family were all "ecstatic" after he received three yeses - and a standing ovation - from the panel.
Amanda Holden, Michael McIntyre and guest judge for the week Louis Walsh were all on their feet after Ronan performed Feeling Good for them at London's Hammersmith Apollo on Saturday night.
“Surely the star of this week’s show was 12 year-old Ronan Parke, who was absolutely terrified before going on stage but really need not have been," the pair wrote in their official blog. "He received a well-deserved standing ovation from the entire audience in the HMV Hammersmith Apollo and the three judges too, not often that that’s happened believe us.
“He was ecstatic, as were his family and there were tears of joy from him and from his family with us in the wings. What an amazing experience for a 12 year-old. But the best bit of it for Ronan? He got a full day off school. Jammy git!”
But it wasn't just Ronan who caught the eyes of Ant and Dec, vocal group Out of the Blue also impressed the pair with their Lady GaGa and Justin Timberlake mashup.
“Out Of The Blue were brilliant," the pair said. "They were the collection of very well turned out young students from Oxford who surprised us all by launching into Lady Gaga complete with choreography moves, when we’d all been expecting them to be more, how would you describe it? A bit more, ‘You Raise Me Up’, you know what we mean!?”
