According to the ever-reliable Mail on Sunday today, Louis Walsh is set to replace David Hasselhoff on Britain's Got Talent permanently from next year. The X Factor judge, who sat in for David on last night's audition show in London, is said to be in talks to take over from The Hoff already.
According to the paper, Louis was originally being lined up for this year's show, however bosses weren't keen on the Irish music mogul taking part in both BGT and The X Factor.
"Peter did not like the idea of Louis working on two of ITV’s most high-profile shows," a source told the newspaper. "‘He felt that BGT should be a separate brand from X Factor now that Simon has left and there should be more distinction between the two panels.
"But with falling ratings, discussions have taken place at a senior level and the view is that Hasselhoff won’t return next year."
Despite the claims of falling ratings however this year's audition shows have been watched by well over 10 million viewers, thanks to ITV's new catch-up service ITV1+1.
