Glee inspired vocal groups hoping for X Factor success on this year's show

Lea Michele

Move over Lea Michele and Cory Monteith, as it looks like some real-life Glee groups are set on stealing your thunder this year. Having had a sneak peak at some of this year's X Factor auditionees it seems not only will this year's show see more groups auditioning, but a lot of Glee-inspired vocal groups too.

With the success of the TV series it seems as though a lot of groups who may have never considered The X Factor before now reckon they have what it takes. Despite the music not always being that mainstream, with Glee covers continuing to enter the charts week after week it looks as though these groups could be onto a winner.

One group, called Connected, consists of 10 guys aged 16-18 from a college in Swansea. They impressed the show's producers and researchers at the final auditions in Wales earlier this month with a medley of Lady GaGa hits. Another similar group who also made it through the pre-auditions were the Menai Dynamics from Bangor, they performed Glee's version of Don't Stop Believing' in order to be able to try out for the judges.

Meanwhile we can also reveal that hot new British star Jessie J has become a real favourite with the auditionees, with her track Price Tag being performed by many of the solo hopefuls. Other top audition tracks included Adele's Rolling In The Deep and Someone Like You, as well as another Glee-inspired track in the form of Katy Perry's Teenage Dream.

And The X Factor isn't alone with the invasion of Glee. Tonight's Britain's Got Talent sees boy group 'Out of the Blue' get Amanda Holden out of her seat for as they perform a medley of classic pop hits including Lady GaGa's Pokerface.
