Drumming band forced to pull out of Britain's Got Talent - to attend the Royal Wedding!

Highwaymen

It seems you just can't get away from the Royal Wedding at the moment and unfortunately for one Britain's Got Talent act it has forced them out of the competition. The nine Marines, called the Highwaymen, earned a standing ovation at their Glasgow auditions, however have had to back out of the show.

According to The Sun, they were later called up to cover for military colleagues on duty at the big bash next week of Wills and Kate. The paper claims that a further shortfall was caused by a band being sent to Afghanistan.

34-year-old band leader Stuart Warmington, 34 told the newspaper: "We're all active soldiers. One of the bands was sent to Afghanistan and others are playing at the wedding so we were needed for operational duty."

They group said they planned to split the £100,000 prize between Help for Heroes and a Marines charity if they made it all the way. Stuart said being on Britain's Got Talent "was an amazing experience."

Their original audition, which saw them tipped for the final, will be shown later in the current series.
