The wonderful 'Insert celebrity name here' has become the latest media personality to be linked to a role on The X Factor in 2011. The singer/actor/comedian is reportedly in talks with show bosses about joining the reality megahit when it returns for an eighth series later this year.
A source told us: "'Insert celebrity name here' has some sort of generic favourable characteristic that could probably make them a possible replacement in the show. 'Insert celebrity name here' has some possibly vague link to the music industry and that means they could be well suited to such a credible show."
A spokesperson for 'Insert celebrity name here' denied the claims, saying: "There is no truth in the rumours whatsoever; they won't even be in the country at the time."
When we got word yesterday that Tulisa Contostavlos ('that girl out of N'Dubz') was being linked to The X Factor we felt like pulling our hair out. It seems as though every day another celebrity is being connected to the show with some tenuous link or an unnamed source.
It's not even as though many of those tipped to join the programme sound like even half-good ideas. Can we really see an auditionee taking more than a line of advice from Gary Barlow without feeling the temptation to nod off?
Last night an X Factor spokesperson said: "We will announce the new X Factor judges in due course," and frankly it can't come soon enough for us.
