Donelda Guy, who impressed the Britain's Got Talent 2011 panel on last night's show with her dog fancing act, has revealed she is doing the programme to help her husband who is suffering from cancer. We reported yesterday that Donelda had hidden her husband's condition from judges and procuers as to avoid sympthay.
Since the 67-year-old's audition has aired however, Donelda has spoken to the press about her heartbreak. She told The Mirror yesterday that 73-year-old husband Alan may not be able to make it to see on her on the live shows if she gets through. "He was too ill to see me audition in Birmingham but he’s going to watch the show,” Donelda said.
“It helps to take his mind off things and he is very positive. We are going to beat this together. I would love to win the show as a tribute to him and his bravery.”
Meanwhile today Donelda told the Daily Mail: "One of the reasons why I am doing this is because of what has happened to Alan. Nine months ago he was diagnosed first with diabetes and then pancreatic cancer. I want there to be more research into the condition."
She added: "Taking part in a show like this gives me a platform to talk about it."
Donelda Guy and her dancing dogs Mega and Biba impressed the judging panel last night to win three yeses from the judging panel and a ticket through to the next round of auditions.
Britain's Got Talent 2011 continues on Saturday at 8PM on ITV1.
