Spice Girls member Mel B is the latest star to be linked to a role on The X Factor. The 35-year-old star who lives in America with her husband Stephen Belafonte and her two children and is currently pregnant with a third has been rumoured to be joining the panel of the UK talent contest.
The latest rumours come after reports this week that Cheryl Cole is set to leave the panel of the UK version in favour of a contract to judge on the upcoming US X Factor. The singer best known as Scary Spice tweeted current judge Danni Minogue last week.
The tweet in question said: ''@DanniiMinogue hey there i just direct message you, need your help with something about something!''. The tweet has been picked on by fans with internet users on forums such as Digital Spy speculating that the tweet may be about a job on the show.
Most recently, the actress who had a relationship with American comedian Eddie Murphy, dropped hints about moving back to the UK in an interview with Harriet Scott for Heart FM. The star said: ''I think I might be coming over here for quite some time at some point next year.''
Realising that the statement may raise questions about the show, Mel added: ''I don't think I was meant to say that though. Oh sorry, pregnant brain, maybe that was a secret.'' Responding to the statement, co-host Jamie Theakston asked if she is replacing Cheryl on the panel to which she replied: ''Maybe so....anyway....I'm in so much trouble, why did I do this interview? I don't talk about anything unless it's ready to go.''
Mel was previously rumoured to be joining the show in 2007 after Sharon Osbourne left the show. Other names linked to the show have been The Saturdays member Frankie Sandford, singer Lilly Allen and Nicole Sherzinger.
