Sexy Girls Aloud star turned telly presenter Kimberley Walsh has revealed she'd love to present The Xtra Factor this year - despite reservations she'd be biased towards her bandmate Cheryl's acts! Kimberley rose to fame in Girls Aloud after the group won the precursor to The X Factor, Popstars, back in 2002.
Since then the group has gone on to have enormous success to become the most successful reality winners, with 6 multi-platinum selling albums as well as sell-out arena tours. Now the group are on a break however and Kimberley is keen to try her hand at presenting. "I’d love to do it because I’ve been there and know what the contestants are going through so I’d be able to help them," she said.
Kimberley continued: "I get on well with Simon Cowell, he’s always been really nice. He’s got something about him that I like and respect.”
The telly host has already been seen on a few primetime shows, such as Let's Dance for Comic Relief and The 5'o'Clock show. Walsh has also hosted Viva's Suck My Pop and red carpet coverage of the BAFTAs for both MTV and E!
Despite admitting to loving the possibility of taking the job on however, Kimberley was quick to the defence of former host Konnie and admitted she too would have problems in the role. “It’s too easy to criticise Konnie – it’s a tough job trying to keep everything moving on an hour of live TV," she explained. "A lot of people tell me I should do it, but I think I’d be too biased with Cheryl being a judge."
