Dancing On Ice semi-finalist Laura Hamilton has discussed recent rumours regarding The Xtra Factor, saying she'd love to host the show if given the chance. The former kids telly presenter added that she felt her own experience would make her a good host.
The TV presenter, who is best known for hosting shows on Nickelodeon, has gained a large fanbase after regularly topping the leaderboard on ITV's Dancing On Ice and with the recent news that Konnie Huq is quitting her role as presenter of The Xtra Factor after just one series, Laura seems to be at the top of many people's lists of ideal presenters for the job.
Asked whether there was any truth to the rumours, Laura told us at TellyMix: ''Who knows? At the moment I can't confirm anything about what I'm going to be doing after the show. It's definitely something I'd love to be doing if I was offered the opportunity though. ''
Other names rumoured to be up for the job include Sky Sports presenter Georgie Thompson, Daybreak presenter Christine Bleakley and Dancing On Ice contestant Jeff Brazier. With Dermot O'Leary all but confirmed to be hosting the main show, Simon is said to be keen on getting a female presenter to keep up the Male/Female balance that has always been present.
Continuing on, Laura said of the show itself: ''It's a great show and obviously having been part of a reality show it would be great to present something like that as you can emphasise with everyone who is auditioning and how everyone is feeling as I've been there and experienced that.''
But who would you like to see presenting the show? Would you like Laura to front it? Would Georgie, Jeff or Christine do it for you? Or is there someone else you think could do a good job fronting the ITV2 spin-off? Post your suggestions here!
