Radio 1 breakfast host Chris Moyles has said he'd be more than happy to judge The X Factor if given the chance by show boss Simon Cowell. Chatting to The Mirror this morning, Moyles said Simon should ask him to join the panel, saying that the music mogul was his favourite judge on the top reality programme.
He told the tabloid: "If they offered me X Factor I would do it. What a gig that would be. I would bite Cowell's arm off to do it. Has he asked me yet? No, but he should. I don't think Simon is doing the next one, so I would quite happily replace him. He is my favourite judge - most times on the night he says what I am thinking."
The BBC DJ continued: "It's when you're sitting there with your mate and you go, 'Ooh, that was a bit ropey, wasn't it?' and then they come on and say, 'That was brilliant'. I'm sorry, it wasn't. You've got to be honest - you don't have to be horrible. You can say, 'That wasn't great, you know you can do better than that', and that's what Simon does."
If Moyles does somehow make the panel however, there could be trouble on the horizon between him and Louis Walsh! Chris moaned: "He shouts, 'That was brilliant', and you have to say, 'Are you deaf? Were you on the phone? Were you even listening?'"
Moyles added: "So if Simon is reading this, just put me on. I'll do it for less money than he does so the show can give him a bit of cash."
