Runner up of The X Factor back in 2009, Olly Murs has come out in support of getting Simon Cowell back on the panel in the UK. The cheeky Essex singer, who has gone on to score two UK Top 10 singles - including a number one - since leaving the show, said it wouldn't be the same without Cowell.
Olly, who was mentored in the 2009 series by Simon, said: "When you’re a contestant on the show – honestly, no disrespect to any of the other judges, because they’re all amazing – but you genuinely look out for Simon’s comments. You just do.
“I just really, really hope he comes back because I just can’t see The X Factor being the same over here without him.”
And Olly was confident the music mogul WILL be back on the programme this year, saying: “I don’t think there’s going to be much of a problem. Simon’s not doing American Idol anymore and he’s not doing Britain’s Got Talent this year, so I think that’ll free him up to do both X Factor’s.”
TellyMix reported yesterday how Simon was refusing to sign any UK judges until the US panel had been announced.
Olly's debut self-titled album is out now.
