Simon Cowell is said to be refusing to sign ANY judges for the UK version of the show until the US panel is announced. According to The Sun, Cowell - who jetted back to the UK today for talks with ITV - is keen to focus on the launch of the American version of the show before worrying about the UK one.
Despite auditions for the latest series well underway, with the first filmed auditions set to kick off at the O2 in May, there's currently no judges or Xtra Factor host. The only person confirmed for the UK show is Dermot O'Leary, who we revealed had signed a new one-year deal after missing out on the US job.
A source said: "Simon is cutting it really fine. ITV are desperate for some concrete news. All this dithering is seeing them break out in cold sweats. Simon's focus is on the US series, which has nothing to do with ITV.
"They don't even know if he will be back on the show - at the moment they are thinking he won't be. He's back in the UK now and they are hoping to get something from him this week so everyone can sleep at night."
The X Factor 2011 auditions continue this weekend in Birmingham.
