ITV are reportedly considering a move of The X Factor in the UK until the new year in 2012, in a bid to avoid a clash with the US version of the show. According to News Of The World, show bosses are desperate for both Cheryl and Simon to appear on the UK panel still, despite their commitments to the new American show.

A sneaky source blabbed the newspaper: "ITV is looking at a range of options to find a way to keep Simon and Cheryl."

However the insider down played suggestions that the show would be moved, explaining: "Changing dates would play havoc with ITV's schedule and the X Factor auditions have already begun."

This latest news flies in the face of top ITV exec said last month, commenting at the time: “I can absolutely confirm for any avoidance of doubt that BGT will appear in the spring and X Factor in the autumn.”

Details of both the US and UK versions of the show this year are expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks.
