'Cruel jokes banned' from Sky 1's revamped 'A League of Their Own' panel show

James Corden (A League Of Their Own)

Host of Sky 1 HD's 'A League of Their Own' football based panel show James Corden has revealed that cruel jokes on the programme have been banned in an effort to revamp the show. The new series of the programme, which starts tomorrow (Friday) night at 9:30PM, will instead feature more wacky challenges for guests.

Challenges on the new show including seeing team captain Jamie Redknapp set on fire to win points for his team! Speaking about the changes, James Corden told The Sun: "We've been quite careful, from the producers down to us. The easiest joke to make would be the one that makes people feel inferior.

"We make jokes that are clearly jokes, rather than laying into people. It's the last thing we want."

Other challenges include Christine Bleakley going on a trapeze and Phil "The Power" Taylor dangling from a diving board for as long as possible.

Jamie Redknapp added: Guests would be hesitant if we took the p*** out of them. They know they aren't going to be ripped apart."

Chatting about the fire stunt, the former football revealed to the tabloid: "I burnt my eyebrows and my eyelashes. Afterwards I said I could smell burning and the make-up girl said my eyelashes and eyebrows were singed."

James Corden chipped in: "We were shouting, put him out, put him out. Apparently another 15 seconds and it could have burned through to his arms - the suit would have burned through."

A new series of A League of Their Own kicks off this Friday at 9.30pm on Sky1 HD.
