Wacky comedian Al Murray will host a new quiz show for comedy channel Dave which will see the winners awarded a frozen chicken, it has been revealed. The telly format, based on Murray's own game he played during his sell-out Edinburgh Festival show, will air on the channel from May this year.
The one hour long contest will see four teams compete in each episode, with the winner taking home a frozen chicken while runners up receive some sausages! Called Al Murray's Compete For The Meat, the show has already been commissioned for a first series of six episodes.
Speaking about the upcoming show, Richard Allen-Turner from the programme makers Avalon Television said: "We have all the ingredients for a cracking entertainment series."
Meanwhile Dave boss Steve North is quoted by The Sun as saying: "As soon as we saw the show in Edinburgh we knew we had to have it.
"Al's unique combination of intelligent and ridiculous humour ensures this will be a big hit."
