Ex GMTV presenter is reportedly in talks with bosses at This Morning to stand in for current presenter Holly Willoughby as she goes off on maternity leave. The presenter who left ITV's now-defunct breakfast show in December 2008 after 15 years is apparently a possible stand-in presenter for when Willoughby leaves for a few months to have her baby.
Other names tipped to get the job are former GMTV newsreader Helen Fospero and Friday presenter Ruth Langsford who have also had talks with the show's bosses over filling in for Willoughby when she is due to have a baby girl.
An insider for the ITV progamme toldThe Mirror: ''There is a desire to play safe and recruit someone well-liked by viewers. Holly intends to return to work later this year and so they don't want to try someone ''edgy'' who might end up alienating the audience. ''
The source added: ''The women being talked about all have vast experience and are seen as safe pairs of hands.'' The papers recently claimed that Daybreak presenter Christene Bleakley will take over as Holly's stand-in for both This Morning and Dancing On Ice.
