One of the more vocal personalities on hit Channel 4 series 'Big Fat Gypsy Weddings' Paddy Doherty has admitted to faking his on screen "hard man" persona for the cameras. Speaking to The Sun, the Irish traveller claimed that the crew told what to say and his comments were "all for the camera".
Paddy is quoted by the tabloid as saying: "All that's for the cameras, all that crap, it was just having a laugh. It's all nonsense, it's just for a joke. The crew sort of tells you what to say and you play along."
It isn't the the first time the faker has been on telly bragging about his bare knuckle fights, appearing in Danny Dyer's Deadliest Men he said: "I'd bite your eyes and bite your lips off and I won't spit them out so you could sew them back on, I'd swallow them to disfigure you."
However speaking today, Paddy explained: "Danny Dyer made me out to be a very different person than I was. It was just for the cameras, it's not true."
He added: "My fighting days were only when I was 18 or 20. After that I was done with it. It's not real what was on the show."Share on Twitter Share on Facebook
