Take That singer Gary Barlow and former X Factor judge Sharon Osbourne have topped a poll asking the public who they want as new X Factor judges. Gary beat rumoured new judge and fellow Take That star Robbie Williams to top the poll, while Sharon polled more votes than Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger.
Polling body YouGov asked thousands of X Factor viewers who they would like to see as a judge following reports that both Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole will be quitting the show this year.
20% of those X Factor fans quizzed named Gary Barlow as their ideal replacement, while 18% nominated Sharon Osbounre for a shock return to the show. Nicole attracted 16% of the votes, while Robbie came in fourth place with 14%.
Other names that came up in the poll included US popstar Katy Perry (7%) and Ex-Spice Girl Mel B (2%), who was originally slated to replace Sharon Osbourne in 2008.
TellyMix reported on Monday how Louis Walsh had revealed he was expecting two new faces on the panel this year, with Simon and Cheryl likely to quit the show for the states. Simon quitting however could have an adverse effect on the programme, with 76% of those polled saying it'd be worse without him on the panel.
Details about the new series of The X Factor in both the UK and USA are expecting in the coming weeks.
