Telly stars including the likes of David Walliams, John Cleese and Michael McIntyre will be taking part this year's efforts to raise money for Comic Relief, it has been announced. The main event of the charity fundraiser will be the 'Funny For Money' Red Nose Day and telethon, which will air on Friday March 18 on BBC One.
Other stars who have given up their time for the cause include Dancing on Ice judge Emma Bunton and fashion guru Gok Wan, who both model charity T-shirts designed by Vivienne Westwood. The Blackadder inspired clothing can be purchased from TK Maxx.
Meanwhile presenters on the big night include Comedian Michael McIntyre, Radio DJ Fearne Cotton, and Claudia Winkleman. After winning three gongs at this year's British Comedy Awards, Miranda Hart will perform a sketch while Lenny Henry will take part in a moving film as he swaps his home comforts to live in an African slum.
Meanwhile celebrities including Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden, former Big Brother host Davina McCall and X Factor winner Alexandra Burke will also all be making appearances, as well as comedian James Corden, who reprises his character of Smithy for another sketch.
Other events on the night include a special episode of EastEnders and the winner of Let's Dance for Comic Relief 2011 performing live in the studio! Plus, the cast of the hit E4 comedy The Inbetweeners visit the rudest-named places in Britain.
Now it's just not Comic Relief without the famous red nose! This year there are three different designs to choose from - including a pirate called Captain Conk - all of which are available from Sainsbury’s, Oxfam and RedNoseDay.com. At least 70p from each £1 nose sold will go towards the charity.
