Long time telly presenter Fern Britton has announced her new project today, joining Channel 4 to present a brand new teatime chat show called 'Fern'. The programme, which is expected to start early next month, will see a mixture of topical chat, celebrity guests and real life stories from the studio audience.
Speaking about the new show, Fern said: “I am very excited about being in on the start of a brand new show. I’m working with a great team and together we shall rise to the challenge.”
Members of the audience will feature in the programme, sharing their stories while Fern and the celebrity guests offer advice on how to deal with various problems and situations.
Channel 4's head of daytime Helen Warner said: "I have long been a fan of Fern and am thrilled that she is joining us at Channel 4. Whether she's interviewing ordinary people, Hollywood stars or prime ministers, there is no-one better than Fern. For me, she is the British answer to Oprah."
Meanwhile a telly insider revealed to The Mirror: “Fern is tried and tested and hugely popular with the audience. She will be brilliant.”
