The X Factor's 'Jedward' to present CBBC morning show?

Former X Factor contestants John and Edward, known collectively as Jedward, are set to become the 'new Ant and Dec' as the BBC want them to host a new Children's morning show. The programme, which according to The Sun will air on Saturday mornings, will follow a similar format to ITV's old show SM:TV Live.

SM:TV Live - an abbreviation of Saturday Morning Television Live - was presented by Ant and Dec, along with Cat Deely, and enjoyed continued success as the flagship Saturday morning show from 1998 until its end in 2003.

The Sun now claims that BBC bosses are hoping to resurrect the Saturday morning format on their kids channel CBBC, and want Jedward to host the programme after their ITV2 show was axed.

"Yes, it's curtains for the ITV2 show," a source told the paper, "They did one series and obviously everyone hoped they'd do another but it's not happening. I think ITV2 have had enough of them. But their loss could well be the BBC's gain.

"There's a lot of interest in them doing a Saturday morning show on CBBC as obviously with their daft nature they appeal to kids."

The twins also recently revealed they would be taking part in next year's Eurovision song contestant, telling DigitalSpy: "The UK needs to pick a good act this year because we're going to win it for Ireland."
