Jason Manford quits BBC's 'The One Show' after person troubles

Primetime telly host Jason Manford quit his role as presenter of The Show One last night after tabloid confessions about having "internet sex sessions with 12 girl fans." According to today's The Sun, Jason has decided to leave the after to focus on sorting out his personal life.

In a statement, the comedian said: "I have decided after careful consideration to stand back from The One Show to concentrate on my family."

The BBC would only say on the decision: "We have got nothing to say except that we accept Jason's decision."

In today's paper Jason confesses to having sexual conversations with young fans over the internet. He says: "The mad thing was, when I was chatting there were messages I knew went too far. They weren't just flirty. I just didn't think. I can't even describe it. It's such a weird world online. People throw themselves at you.

"Every word seems an excuse - but I am sorry. I don't want to be crying in front of people, I want to be making them laugh."

He added: "I am a good dad, a good husband. From now I am going to be one forever. That's it."
