It might look like the perfect holiday destination, but trouble is never far away in a brand-new detective drama coming to Channel 5.
With sunshine, seaside bars and a string of mysterious deaths, this is one holiday where nobody can truly relax.
Benidorm Is Murder stars BAFTA nominee John Hannah as Dennis, a former detective who has left the UK behind in search of a quieter life running a bar on the Costa Blanca.
His plans for a peaceful retirement quickly unravel when tourists begin turning up dead, forcing him to put his investigative skills back to work.

Helping him solve the crimes is his barmaid Rosa, played by Carolina Bécquer, whose obsession with TV detective dramas makes her the perfect, if slightly unconventional, partner.
Together they take on a new murder in each episode while trying to stay one step ahead of the local Spanish police. Ariadna Cabrol and Damian Schedler Cruz also star in the six-part series.
Created by Ian Jarvis and directed by Simon Delaney, Benidorm Is Murder comes from the producers behind The Madame Blanc Mysteries, The Ex-Wife and The Teacher.
The new series will premiere on Channel 5 later in 2026.
