Love Island 2019: Sherif Lanre breaks his silence after leaving the villa
Sherif Lanre has broken his silence after leaving the Love Island 2019 villa.
It was announced at the start of this week that Sherif had left the show after just nine days.
ITV said in a statement that Sherif had “mutually agreed” with producers to withdraw from the show after “breaking the villa rules”.
As yet, exactly what happened for Sherif to leave hasn’t been revealed.
But last night (June 12) he broke his silence on social media to reassure he was “all good”.
After returning from the villa in Majorca to his home in London, Sherif posted to his Instagram and Twitter: “Thank you to everyone including my friends and family for the support I’ve come back to.
“I appreciate you all and hope I provided some good, positive moments during my time on Love island and for anyone wondering I’m all good.”
He then added hashtags including ‘It is what it is’ and ‘Better things to come.’
Tuesday’s (June 11) episode of Love Island saw Sherif’s departure mentioned only in passing.
Narrator Iain Stirling stated in his commentary: “Earlier, following discussions with the producers, Sherif left the villa. But for the other islanders it’s another day in paradise.”
The lack of details given about Sherif’s exit has been slammed by viewers.
And according to one insider, even the contestants left in the villa are being kept in the dark.
“The Islanders have been told he’s left the villa,” a source told the Daily Mirror newspaper. “They haven’t been told the reason why, and it’s unlikely they’ll be told officially.”
In a short statement given on Tuesday, Sherif said his exit was “a case of poor judgement”.
He explained: I broke the villa rules and as a result agreed with the producers that it was best for me to leave the villa. I regret that I didn’t conduct myself in the right way and, as a 20 year old guy, it’s something I know I will take on board and learn from.
“I really enjoyed my time in the villa and look forward to catching up with everyone on the outside.”
Meanwhile, it’s been revealed that Sherif will NOT be a part of this weekend’s After Sun spin-off.
Caroline Flack hosts the show at 10PM on Sunday nights.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “There are no plans for Sherif to appear on Aftersun.
“The show is reserved for dumped Islanders and Sherif left under unforeseen circumstances.”
Love Island 2019 continues nightly on ITV2.
Last night’s episode (June 12) saw two new girls enter the villa as Elma Pazar and Maura Higgins joined the show.
