Killing Eve series 3 cast welcomes Dame Harriet Walter and Danny Sapani
Series 3 of Killing Eve has started filming, welcoming two new cast members.
Based on the Codename Villanelle novellas by Luke Jennings, Killing Eve made its UK debut on BBC One and as a boxset on BBC iPlayer last year while series two aired earlier in 2019.
Killing Eve has become a massive hit with BBC audiences with over 46 million requests for the series on BBC iPlayer so far.
Starring Sandra Oh, Jodie Comer and Fiona Shaw, Killing Eve has announced that production has started on its third series.
The series, nominated for nine 2019 Emmy awards including Outstanding Drama Series, is welcoming Dame Harriet Walter (Succession, The Crown) and Danny Sapani (Harlots, The Crown) to the cast.
Killing Eve left off with an explosive cliffhanger at the end of series two, as Carolyn (Emmy-nominee Fiona Shaw) seemingly betrayed Eve (Emmy-nominee Sandra Oh) before Villanelle (Emmy-nominee Jodie Comer) shot Eve, leaving her for dead in Rome.
Meanwhile, for series three, British writer Suzanne Heathcote (Fear The Walking Dead) will come on board to serve as lead writer and executive producer, continuing the tradition of passing the baton to a new female writing voice.
Series three will also be executive produced by Sally Woodward Gentle, Lee Morris, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Gina Mingacci, Damon Thomas and Sandra Oh and produced by Nige Watson. Jeff Melvoin (Designated Survivor, Alias) also joins the team as executive producer.
Charlotte Moore, BBC Director of Content, said: “It’s fantastic news that there will be a third series of this award winning hit drama and we’re delighted UK audiences will be able to see Killing Eve exclusively on the BBC.”
Series one and two are available to watch now on BBC iPlayer.
You can also purchase the episodes on DVD.
