I’m A Celebrity 2017: Rival camps compete for ‘care packages’ – but there’s a twist

The rival I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! camps have begun competing for ‘care packages’ – but a sneaky twist means Snake Rock must LOSE to get their own rewards.

Yesterday the contestants were split in to two groups after newcomer Iain Lee earned the title of ‘Prime Minister’ in a Bushtucker Trial.

He chose five celebs to join him in relative luxury at Croc Creek, while his rival Kezia Dugdale joined the rest at the bare-bones Snake Rock.

After dinner was delivered – wallaby sausages for the winners, rice and beans for the losers – Iain and his deputy PM Shappi Khorsandi received a message.

The pair found out that each member of their team would be delivered a care package, containing a letter and photo from home, as well their luxury item.

For the Snake Rock crew to receive their packages, it was up to Croc Creek to win them.

“You’re about to compete against Snake Rock in a series of challenges and Trials,” the note explained. “The only way to win their care packages is to beat them.”

However, a twist meant that the celebs in Snake Rock weren’t informed of this crucial detail.

As a result, they were under the impression that it was up to them to win their own rewards. “This is genius,” grinned Iain.

The first care package challenge was a quiz about the campmates.

PM Iain chose who would take part, allowing him to pick the three Snake Rock celebs he thought would get the most questions wrong.

The two sides played to win a delicious cake, but ended up level pegging with their final scores.

They were asked a tie-breaker question: ‘In series one of I’m A Celebrity, how many stars did all the celebrities win in total?’

Croc Creek got closest to the correct answer, 77, and secretly chose to trade their cake in for one of Snake Rock’s care packages.

I’m A Celebrity 2017 continues tomorrow at 9.00pm on ITV.
