I’m A Celebrity 2017: How much will Jack Maynard get paid after quitting?
Jack Maynard is likely to forfeit most of his I’m A Celebrity fee after leaving the camp.
It was announced yesterday evening (Tuesday) that Jack had “withdrawn” from the ITV series, after just two days.
A spokesperson for Jack said in a statement: “In the last few days Jack has been the subject of a succession of media stories which, given his position as a contestant on ‘I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here’ – filmed in the Australian jungle, with no contact with the outside world, he has been unable to respond to.
“Since it is only fair that everyone should be aware of any allegations made against them and should also have the right to defend themselves, it was agreed that it would be better to bring him out of the show.”
They added: “Jack agrees with this decision which was made by his representatives and ITV and thanks everyone who has supported him in the show this far.”
Following his exit, questions have been asked over how much – if anything – Jack will still be paid.
It’s understood the YouTuber was set to get £25,000 for taking part in the show but most of this is likely to be forfeited.
According to the Daily Mirror newspaper, celebs must last at least 72 hours in order to get any money.
But the tabloid suggests Jack may not leave with nothing, instead getting a small amount for the time he was on the show.
In 2014, Gemma Collins was paid £4,800 for lasting her four days in the jungle.
She donated the amount to charity Save The Children.
I’m A Celebrity Get me Out Of Here continues nightly on ITV at 9PM.
