I’m A Celebrity 2017: Medic Bob had to remove killer snake from Bushtucker Trial setShow's safety guru reckons some of the new contestants are "weak"
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! safety expert Medic Bob McCarron has removed at least two venomous snakes from the show’s set this series – including one that can KILL.
However, the latest bunch are apparently unaware that a killer snake invaded the jungle filming space not too long ago.
Speaking on ITV2 spin-off Extra Camp, Medic Bob told host Scarlett Moffatt that he’s recently removed two serpents – including a deadly small-eyed snake.
“We keep it quiet from the celebrities in camp,” he revealed. “Last week I removed a venomous brown tree snake, climbing along the drawbridge where Ant and Dec walk every day.
“We also took a small-eyed snake, which is a very dangerous snake, and potentially a killer.
“We found that one on the Trials area. They’re very dangerous.”
The admission came after insiders warned that cold weather conditions could draw a larger-than-usual number of snakes to camp.
“The unseasonably cold weather has brought the snakes out as they try to find somewhere warm,” a source explained to The Mirror.
“This will be an ongoing problem this year, which is not good news for the celebrities.”
Meanwhile, Bob also gave his own take on the new campmates, claiming that some of them are “quite weak”.
“To be honest, at least half of them are really quite weak, coming from the medical side of things and what I know,” he said.
“I think they think they’re on a holiday. It hasn’t quite got in to their brain that this is a real show.
“Within another week things are gonna get really hard. They haven’t adapted yet, believe me.”
Medic Bob has worked on I’m A Celebrity since its very first series in 2002.
He sometimes appears on the main show when the celebs face medical emergencies.
