I’m A Celebrity 2017: Kezia Dugdale faces dunny duty as celebs split up in camp divide twistGeorgia 'Toff' Toffolo vows to keep spirits up in the bare-bones Snake Rock camp
I’m A Celebrity 2017 has revealed a new camp divide twist, with Prime Minister Iain Lee putting rival Kezia Dugdale on dunny duty as he began ruling two opposing groups of celebs.
This year’s campmates found out they’d be split up yesterday when Iain and Kezia went head-to-head in a Bushtucker Trial to determine who would reign supreme in the jungle.
The original nine celebs all backed Kezia to win, but Iain ended up claiming victory, making him the ITV reality show’s first ever ‘Prime Minister’.
He was able to pick five celebs to join him in the more comfortable Croc Creek camp, where they’d enjoy a full meal.
The radio host chose Amir Khan, Dennis Wise, Jennie McAlpine, Shappi Khorsandi and Stanley Johnson, and gave Shappi the role of Deputy Prime Minister.
On their arrival at base camp, they found that bosses had set up a new room named ’10 Downing Creek’, with two beds inside for Iain and Shappi.
While I’m A Celeb contestants would usually be thrilled to have sheltered sleeping quarters, Iain found the bed was too small for his 6ft 4in frame.
Meanwhile, Kezia and the remaining celebs moved in to the bare-bones Snake Rock camp, with only basic rations to eat.
They were shocked to find that they only had thin mats to sleep on.
“So we come down the hill to Snake Rock and see mats on the floor, which is actually quite depressing,” explained Georgia ‘Toff’ Toffolo.
“The mood is subdued down here, which I really don’t like, so I will try to lift everyone’s spirits.
“Yeah we’re on the floor, and yes we’re on rice and beans, but if you charcoal them they’re delicious!”
Kez’s spirits didn’t seem to be dampened by her loss. “I’m excited to have a wash, sit by the fire and get to know people,” she said.
Back at Croc Creek, Iain and Shappi’s first job was to allocate jobs for both camps.
He stood on a podium to address the two groups, with Snake Rock able to listen in via radio.
Former Scottish Labour leader Kez faced a fall from grace when Iain announced she and Amir would be cleaners, with duties including emptying the dunny.
“I’ve slid all the way from potential Prime Minister to being on dunny duty pretty quick,” she laughed.
“Crap job but someone’s got to do it,” added Amir.
