I’m A Celebrity 2017: ITV speak out over Dennis Wise ‘bullying’ complaints
ITV has given a statement after accusations of bullying in I’m A Celebrity’s latest episode.
A row between Iain Lee and Dennis Wise last night led viewers to claim radio host Iain was being picked on by some of the other celebs.
Many watching called for Dennis to be kicked out of the jungle for what they saw as unacceptable behaviour, alongside Amir Khan and Jamie Lomas.
One viewer complained: “Unbelievable from Dennis and Amir…… huge bullies, actually pathetic to see from grown men, get them out!!”
Another added: “I am finding watching this really uncomfortable to watch @iainlee is being bullied plain and simple.”
And a third posted to Twitter: “This is very painful to watch now! Something needs to be done, these men are being horrible to and about Iain.
“I was trying to avoid using the word bully but it is really going too far now! I’d like Iain to get to the end but a big part of me thinks he’s better out.”
It was claimed by show insiders that producers were considering booting Dennis out of the show today.
A source told the Daily Mirror: “Producers have been holed up in meetings debating whether to reprimand Dennis or remove him altogether.
“They have a duty of care to all contestants they take very seriously.”
However, ITV denied the suggestion.
In a statement, they said: “The welfare of all our celebrities is of utmost importance and we’ve not witnessed nor had any complaints of bullying from any of them.
