I’m A Celebrity 2017: Iain Lee becomes jungle Prime Minister in ’10 Downing Creek’ Trial

Camp divide begins with radio host claiming victory - after all the celebs backed Kezia Dugdale

Iain Lee beat fellow I’m A Celebrity 2017 newbie Kezia Dugdale to become the jungle Prime Minister as a camp divide twist began in the ‘Battle for 10 Downing Creek’ Bushtucker Trial.

Yesterday, all of the original campmates gathered at the Trials area, only to find that none of them would be doing the latest food challenge.

Instead, Iain and Kezia were going head-to-head to decide who’d be crowned the first ever jungle Prime Minister.

The celebs learned that they’d be split in to two camps, and were played election campaign-style videos for the two latecomers.

Iain and Kezia then entered the clearing, with the former immediately getting off on the wrong foot by saying: “You lot looked really f**ked. Sorry, but you look very exhausted.”

At the side were three benches, resembling the green padded seats in the House of Commons.

The originals were instructed to sit near the flag of the person they wanted to win, and all nine of them sided with Kezia.

Ant and Dec then explained that Iain and Kezia had to crawl through perspex tunnels made up of five chambers, each named after a politician.

Whoever collected all their stars and completed the Trial in the quickest time would earn food and the best camp for their team.

The first chamber was ‘Sickola Sturgeon’, which was filled with putrid fish guts.

Iain quickly found his first star, and powered through ‘Margaret Scratcher’, which contained meal worms, crickets and cockroaches, and ‘Theresa Dismay’, which featured cane toads and spiders.

As Kezia entered the second chamber, Iain moved on to ‘Jeremy Claw-byn’, where he encountered mud crabs.

The radio DJ struggled to obtain the star inside, giving Kezia time to catch up to him at the fourth chamber.

However, Iain soon reached the final section, ‘Tony Scare’, and after finding his final two stars among slithering snakes, he made it out the tunnel and rang the final bell.

Having claimed victory, he looked at the nine campmates on Kezia’s bench and remarked: “This is awkward, isn’t it?”

Ant and Dec confirmed that Iain had been voted Prime Minister, but in order to obtain a political majority, he had to perform a ‘cabinet reshuffle’, selecting five celebs to join him at Croc Creek.

He chose Amir Khan, Dennis Wise, Jennie McAlpine, Shappi Khorsandi and Stanley Johnson, and designated Shappi as his Deputy Prime Minister.

This left former Scottish Labour leader Kezia to join the other celebs living rough at Snake Rock.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues tomorrow night at 9.00pm on ITV.
