A Channel 5 crime drama is coming back, and this time the Peak District is hiding more than pretty views.
We’ve now got official word that Cooper & Fry has been renewed for series two after its first run landed well with viewers.
Robert James-Collier and Mandip Gill are both back as Ben Cooper and Diane Fry, the odd pair at the heart of the show.
The new 8-part series will follow them through more eerie cases shaped by local tales, while their own lives keep pulling them into fresh stress.
Series two is based on more of Stephen Booth’s best-selling books, with The Devil’s Edge and Fall Down Dead among the stories being used.
Lorcan Cranitch and Charlotte Bradley are also set to return, while Pollyanna McIntosh-Goldthwait is among the new faces joining the cast.
Mandip Gill said: “I’m thrilled to be returning to Cooper & Fry after the brilliant reaction to series one. It’s a real pleasure to be working alongside Rob again and I’m excited for audiences to see where the story takes us this time.”
Robert James-Collier has also teased “all sorts of strange goings-on down in Edendale”, so it sounds like series two will lean even harder into the show’s odd local feel.
Filming is already under way, but us Cooper & Fry fans will need to wait a while, as series two is set to air on 5 in 2027.
