This series has held auditions across the UK, taking place in Liverpool, Edinburgh, London and Manchester, and in a first for the show, Thorpe Park, where even the judges experienced a ride or two of their own.
For The X Factor 2017, the contestants begin their journey with the intimate closed rooms, in which they find themselves eyeball-to-eyeball in front of the judges.
Those going in front of Nicole Scherzinger, Sharon Osbourne, Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh tonight include Rak-Su made up of Ashley, Miles, Jamal and Mustaf.
They're a boyband and best friends from Watford who sing an original song from the panel.
At auditions move to Liverpool, we meet Sam Black – a 27 year-old plasterer - who sings Dion's Runaround Sue and Kayleigh Taylor – a 27 year-old mum who performs Evanescence's My Immortal.
More try outs from Liverpool include 27-year-old singer Anthony Russell who sings Julia Michaels' Issues and 36 year-old personal trainer Jo-Ann Mason who hopes Sinead O’Connor's Nothing Compares will get her through to bootcamp.
Further hopefuls appearing into tonight's show include 23-year-old teacher Jack Smith and Rwanda Shaw, a 21 year-old shop assistant from Ireland.
Elisangela Mahogany, a 34 year-old personal trainer from Brazil, then surprises the panel with her performance in the judges' room.
We also meet duo Jack and Joel, a singing pair of pals from London who attended Oxford University together.
Finally there's teenager Holly Tandy who stuns with an Alicia Keys cover and 20-year-old Grace Davies who performs an original song.
The X Factor returns to ITV on Saturday 2nd September and Sunday 3rd September at 8pm.
