PICTURES! Big Brother 2016 first highlights as Housemates and The Others settle in

Here's your first slice of Big Brother highlights from this year's new series.

Big Brother launched last night and if you missed the show, good news, as it'll be recapped in this evening's episode.

Plus we'll get to see just how both houses got on in their very first night, including that rush for the beds!

Last night saw 18 contestants introduced, 12 of them joining the main house as proper Housemates.

However the remaining six became 'The Others', living in a secret second house. They are not housemates and have to target and take down those in the main house to win a place for themselves.

After everyone had bonded a bit, the first twist as was sprung as housemates in the main house were instructed to stand behind one of 12 podiums which were each labelled with a different character trait including 'Intelligent', 'Sexy', 'Game Player' and 'Secretive'

The housemates had to each stand behind one podium and after much bickering they eventually each settled on their choices.

"These decisions will have consequences," Big Brother revealed. "Big Brother will get back to you."

The Others had to pick on one housemate to target on based on nothing more than the podium they had stood behind. They picked whoever was behind the 'Sexy' podium which, unknown to them, was Laura Carter.

Back in the main house, she was asked by Big Brother to stand in the target zone.

"You are now nominated for eviction," revealed Big Brother, "But that is not all. You must now nominate another housemate who will join you in facing eviction."

Laura picked Lateysha Grace as Big Brother warned: "More of you will be targeted, no one is safe."

Big Brother airs tonight at 10PM on Channel 5.
