The X Factor 2014 judges get their categories in tonight's show for the first time this series.
But before that - and the six seat challenge - the panel work together to cut the acts left in the competition from 114 down to just 57.
In groups of threes and fours, contestants sing for the judges alone (no audience) and are given immediate yes or no replies.
After that, the remaining acts in each category meet their mentors as Cheryl declares to Mel B: "It is on!"
This year, Simon Cowell has the Overs, Cheryl is with the Girls, Louis is mentoring the Groups and Mel has the Boys for her first series.
It's then time for the six chair challenge as each mentor takes control of their category to decide which six acts make judges' houses.
The other judges can only comment and give their advice.
"It's daunting," says Cheryl.
Simon quips: "What's the worst that can happen? You've got to say no to ten or so sweet girls in front of 6,000 people."
The X Factor airs tonight from 9PM on ITV and continues on Saturday and Sunday.
