With the Manchester grand final looming and no bottom two tomorrow, tonight's The X Factor 2012 live show saw the last four contestants battle to secure viewer votes.

James Arthur seemed to win the night, with Gary Barlow describing his cover of Frankie Goes To Hollywood's 'The Power Of Love' as 'the performance of the series'.

Jahmene Douglas also did well, wowing with his renditions of Whitney Houston's 'I Look To You' and Etta James' 'At Last', which he originally sung as his audition track.

But there were mixed verdicts for the other two acts. Christopher Maloney divided the judges as usual - and although their vocals were on point, Union J's song choice of 'I'm Already There' was criticised for being too safe.
