The competition reached fever pitch on The X Factor 2012 tonight, as the top five sung their hearts out to in an attempt to avoid becoming the subject of an Ella Henderson-style shock result.
It was first week to feature two performances from each contestant. The first theme was ABBA, which saw Rylan Clark strutting his stuff to 'Mamma Mia' and Union J singing 'Winner Takes It All', before Christopher Maloney was surrounded by dancers for his take on 'Fernando'.
Motown classics followed, with highlights including James Arthur's smooth rendition of 'Let's Get It On' and Jahmene Douglas's cover of 'Tracks Of My Tears'.
