The BBC has released a first look at the highly anticipated third series of Time.
The new pictures give us our first look at David Tennant and returning star Siobhan Finneran in the acclaimed prison drama ahead of its return later this year.
This time, the BAFTA-winning series moves to a Young Offenders Institution, exploring the lives of both the teenagers locked inside and the staff responsible for caring for them.
David Tennant joins the cast as veteran custodial manager Bobby Bailey, while Siobhan Finneran reprises her role as prison chaplain Marie-Louise O’Dell, who arrives at the institution having lost her faith.
When a devastating tragedy rocks the prison, the pair are forced into conflict as Bobby wrestles with secrets that could change everything.
The newly released first-look images also feature Daniel Ryan as fellow custodial manager Freddie Jennings, Jo Joyner as Nicola, Vinette Robinson as Erica, Louis McCartney as James, Ollie McNulty as Peter and Chukwubuikem Molokwu as Christopher.
The story follows James and Peter as they struggle through the frightening first weeks of incarceration, with an unlikely friendship forming between them as they try to navigate life behind bars.
Written by Jimmy McGovern and Samuel Bailey, Time has become one of the BBC’s most acclaimed dramas in recent years.
The third series was filmed in Belfast and arrives on BBC One and iPlayer later this year.
