There’s a fresh take coming for Dalziel and Pascoe, the much-loved British detective duo – and this time, it’s led by women.
Kerry Godliman and Nina Singh will step into the iconic shoes of the legendary investigators in a brand new series for ITV.
Stemming from Reginald Hill’s beloved novels, the series reinvents the characters for a modern audience.
Kerry is taking on Detective Inspector Andrea Dalziel – the seasoned, assertive and warm-hearted leader.
Opposite her, Nina becomes the newly-minted, by-the-book Detective Sergeant Paige Pascoe.
Our new duo are set to clash, bond and bring a strong dose of humour and humanity to their partnership.
Kerry said, “I’m so chuffed to be playing the assertively charming Detective Inspector Andrea Dalziel… It’s a juicy role as she’s such an interesting personality.”
Nina shared, “It’s an absolute honour to be playing Pascoe to Kerry Godliman’s Dalziel. I find Kerry hilarious, so I know at times I’ll struggle not to be laughing.”
As ever, the show is set in the North of England and will consist of six episodes.
Filming is set to begin in spring 2026.
Jonathan Fisher of West Road Pictures says, “We are delighted to reveal Kerry Godliman and Nina Singh as our leading duo… We feel sure that they will breathe new life into these iconic characters.”
For fans of the original, it’s a major update – the series starring Warren Clarke and Colin Buchanan ran for 12 seasons from 1996 to 2007 and became a staple of British crime drama.
The new Dalziel and Pascoe will air on ITV and STV and be available for streaming on ITVX and STV Player.
