A knife-throwing act, spoon playing brothers and an eccentric magician were among the auditions on the fifth episode of Britain’s Got Talent 2020.

Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams returned to the panel once more this evening as they scoured the UK for the best talent they can find.

Tonight’s (May 16) episode was packed with more performances from acts all hoping to make it into the next round.

Airing Saturdays on ITV at 8PM, Britain’s Got Talent hopefuls are going head to head for a £250,000 cash prize and a spot on the bill at the Royal Variety Performance.

Claire-Marie and Jason

Claire-Marie, 45, and Jason 47, from Kent are a knife-throwing danger act. The couple started their audition by throwing knives at Claire-Marie while blindfolded before inviting Simon and David on stage to take part in the act. Simon joked after the audition: “Unfortunately you missed David!” With four yeses, Claire-Marie and Jason are through to the next round.

The Lozhka Brothers

The Lozhka Brothers are spoon players from Russia who took to stage with a fabulously surprising act which gave spooning a whole new meaning. The act surprised the judges who gave the pair four yeses through to the next round.

Emmanuel Vass

30-year-old Emmanuel Vass from Manchester performed a classical and modern piece on the piano whilst stripping down to a pair of Union Jack pants. Simon buzzed the act and the other judges agreed with Emmanuel leaving the stage with four nos.

Dawn Xiana Moon

38-year-old Dawn Xiana Moon from Chicago performed a belly dancing routine dressed as a wookie from Star Wars to ‘Toxic’ by Britney Spears. Amanda and Alesha both buzzed the audition which ultimately got four nos from the judges.

Krysztof Werkowicz

60 year old busker Krysztof Werkowicz played a medley of songs from a tuba that blows out fire balls. The judges weren’t impressed with the one note performance and Krysztof was buzzed off the stage.

Jack Beavis

25-year-old comedy magician Jack Beavis from Bridgend, Wales performed a series of tricks for the judges. “That didn’t go great Jack,” Simon said simply after four buzzers cut the audition short.

Patch

Patch is a 5 year old guinea pig from Nottingham who performed a stand up (of sorts) comedy routine for the judges. “Terrible jokes, Patch, you’ve got a cute face but it’s a no today,” said Alesha as Patch failed to get through to the next round.

Hakan Berg

43-year-old Hakan Berg is a comedy magician from Stockholm who performs a number of tricks, involving birds, a segway and a dry ice machine. The routine had the judges in stitches and saw Hakan leave with four yeses through to the next round.

Immortals

Immortals are a dance group aged 17-24 from Barcelona who perform a powerful urban dance routine dressed as modern-day vampires. Alesha praised the act: “That was like a fight to the death, you were in fifth gear from start to finish. It was unbelievable.” With four yeses, Immortals sailed into the next round.

Myra Dubois

32-year-old comedian Myra Dubois from Rotherham performed a stand-up routine for the judges before singing ‘Why’ by Annie Lennox. “You are a breath of fresh air. You’ve brightened up our day, it’s fabulous,” enthused Alesha. With four yeses, Myra is through to the next stage of the competition.

Crissy Lee

76-year-old Crissy Lee from Colchester took the judges by surprise as she unveiled her talent as a drummer. Crissy performed a medley of rock classics for the panel in an audition which left the audience on their feet. Crissy’s impressive performance won her four yeses from the judges.

Alexey Gusev

31-year-old security guard Alexey Gusev from Glasgow performed Largo al factotum from Il Barbiere di Siviglia opera by Rossini. Simon said no to the extravagant performances but with yeses from the other judges, Alexey was through to the next round.

VA Kidz

Aged between 7 and 19, VA Kidz are a dance troupe from Hartlepool who performed an Alice in Wonderland themed routine. “The music was fantastic, the costumes were beautiful, the choreography was so lovely, it was a great audition,” said Amanda. VA Kidz got four yeses through to the next round.

Sirine Jahangir

14-year-old Sirine Jahangir from London wowed the judges by singing and playing the piano to ‘Salvation’ by Gabrielle Aplin after sharing how she went blind at the age of nine. Following the stand out audition which won four yeses, David revealed to her: “What you couldn’t see was the whole of the Palladium on your feet applauding you because they loved that.”
