BBC One singing show All Together Now gets second series

BBC One singing show All Together Now has been handed a second series.

Hosted by comedian Rob Beckett, All Together Now debuted this year promising a brand new singing competition with a twist.

In All Together Now, over five heats, a range of talented performers took to the stage to perform in front of The 100 – a unique panel of music experts and singers from all over the UK, led by Spice Girl Geri Horner.

Each act performed for The 100, willing them to vote with their voices, and stand up and join in. The greater the number that stood up and sing along, the higher the act’s score.

In each heat, two acts made it through to the final where they performed again for a prize of £50,000.

The show averaged over 4 million viewers on Saturday nights and will return in 2019.

Geri Horner said: “I loved making the first series, it was so fun, it really celebrated people, uniting all walks of life. It got the nation up on their feet and singing along on a Saturday night.

“With so many more incredible performers out there I can’t wait to get going on series two.”

Rob added: “I am absolutely delighted. After making 100 new friends on the show, the Christmas presents cost me an absolute fortune, so it’s great to be back in employment.

“I can’t wait to get started. I’ve also requested a stair lift for the next series to help me get to the top row of judges.”

The first ever All Together Now winner was crowned last month as Michael Rice was named champion.

19-year-old Michael from Hartlepool won the night with a score of 94 for his performance of Hallelujah.
