All Creatures Great and Small will return to Channel 5 this autumn for its highly anticipated sixth series.
Ahead of the launch, first-look images and new casting details have been revealed.
Based on James Herriot’s much-loved books, the BAFTA and Golden Globe-winning production takes viewers back to the Yorkshire Dales, where familiar faces and fresh arrivals will shape a new chapter for Darrowby.
Set in 1945, just as the war in Europe draws to a close, series 6 finds the Skeldale household and wider community adjusting to a changing world.
Veterinary medicine is advancing, families are growing, and new opportunities are opening up—though life in the Dales remains as full of challenges, heart and humour as ever.
Returning to the cast are Nicholas Ralph as dedicated vet James Herriot, Samuel West as Siegfried Farnon, Anna Madeley as the steadfast Mrs Hall, Rachel Shenton as Helen Herriot and Callum Woodhouse as Tristan Farnon, still serving with the Royal Army Veterinary Corps.
Patricia Hodge reprises her role as the elegant Mrs Pumphrey with her pampered pet Tricki Woo, while Tony Pitts and Imogen Clawson return as Helen’s father Richard and sister Jenny.
Joining the ensemble for this new series are Lucy-Jo Hudson, Gaia Wise, Jonathan Hyde, Philip Martin Brown, and Chris Gascoyne. They will be joined by returning guest cast Mollie Winnard, Conor Deane, Cat Simmons and Lamin Touray.
Series 6 will run for six episodes plus a Christmas special, airing later in 2025 on Channel 5 in the UK, and on MASTERPIECE on PBS in the US in early 2026.
